Cookie Policy
No tracking cookies are needed to translate. This page lists the small on-device storage the site uses — and how to clear any of it.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Summary
Translation, audio, downloads, and share links run locally in your browser. The site does not set advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies for the translator. It uses two kinds offirst-party, on-device storage only when useful: saved preferences and an offline file cache.
2. What we store
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
morse-theme | localStorage | Remember dark / light theme | Until you clear site data |
morse-prefs (speed, tone, volume, direction) | localStorage | Restore your playback and translator settings | Until you clear site data |
| Static-asset cache | Cache Storage (service worker) | Let the tool work offline after the first visit | Until you clear site data or the cache updates |
Share parameters (e.g. ?text=…) | URL only — not stored by us | Carry a message inside a link you choose to send | Lives only in the URL you share |
Your message content is never written to localStorage or cookies. Private browsing modes isolate or discard the above storage when the session ends.
3. Third-party requests
- Google Fonts CDN — interface typefaces load from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com. Those requests may expose your IP address and user agent to Google and may set Google’s own cache/cookie behavior per Google’s policies. Blocking them falls back to system fonts. - Hosting / CDN logs — the provider delivering these static files may keep standard, short-term server logs (IP, URL, user agent) for security and reliability. There is no translation backend receiving your input.
No social widgets, ad networks, or behavioral trackers are embedded for the translator.
4. Manage & delete
- Use without storage: translate with default settings — preferences are only saved after you change them.
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data → select “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files.”
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → remove this site.
- Fonts only: a content blocker that stops
fonts.gstatic.comremoves the CDN request while keeping translation fully working.
After clearing, the next visit simply uses default theme and settings again.
